Eco Turf Instant lawn is a grower and supplier of the best quality, weed-free Kikuyu instant lawn.
Although Kikuyu lawn is not an indigenous lawn, it is very adaptable in the Southern Africa regions and settles quickly and grows rapidly. For that reason, it is still seen as the most popular and cost-effective choice when deciding on installing n instant lawn.
As mentioned before, the advantages of Kikuyu lawn are thus that it is a cost-effective lawn, well-priced, popular, and grows vigorously. It can be planted using seeds, sprigs, or sods. Eco Turf Instant lawn only supplies Kikuyu sods. We supply the lawn sods in rolls and two rolls make one square meter. Our Kikuyu sods are 0.5 x 1m each.
When deciding on Kikuyu instant lawn it must be noted that Kikuyu lawn does require sunlight, at least 25mm water per week (depending on the season), and fertilizer every 3-4 months to grow at its best.
Before you order your lawn or when you phone Eco Turf Instant lawn to discuss instant lawn deliveries it is always handy to know your area size. When ordering lawn dressing on the other hand, please note we quote for the delivery separately depending on the amount of m³ and area of delivery.

Once lawn installation has been completed, keep the roots of turf damp for up to 3 to 4 weeks. Watering for the first two weeks is critical, once to twice a day in summer depending on temperature, winter every second day.
Mowing the turf. After the lawn has been down for two weeks it can be mowed, the first mowing is usually done a little higher than normal, thus put your lawnmower on a high setting.
Settling in of the turf. Remember that lawn is a living product and you will need to continue to water it regularly (depending on the weather, but say three times weekly in summer). Yes, it is drought tolerant, but it needs water to grow. Lawn generally takes about 3 months in summer before it settles in after you have mowed it a few times. Consider fertilizing the turf about 2-3 months after laying to give it that extra boost – 2.3.2 General fertilizer. You will find that during your first winter, the lawn will lose more colour than what it will in the subsequent winters. The roots however will survive and the colour will return in spring.
Lawn dressing is spread usually when planting lawn during winter or early autumn as it adds nutrients and organic materials to the soil. Normally applied at the beginning of the growing season: August – September. Lawn dressing restores the natural balance of the soil structure as well as aiding in the treatment and prevention of diseases. Our lawn dressing is weed-free and contains our hydro compost.
Our compost is unique. We prepare it using organic matter that was used as planting medium in hydroponic greenhouses – thus it is jam-packed with mineral elements which adds an additional boost to your garden in combination with the organic compost material.
You can use compost to top-dress both new and existing lawns. Adding compost will help your lawn’s soil retain moisture during the long hot months of summer, keeping your grass greener longer.
Over-watering – This will result in the lawn turning yellow
Over-watering – Areas that are shaded need less water while sunny areas need more water. Over-watering certain areas is usually a problem with automatic sprinkler systems. If feasible, consider one cycle of automatic watering on the entire area, and a hand watering later, to cover just the more exposed areas.
Uneven watering due to sprinklers that are clogged not adjusted or inadequately designed. Always check and do necessary corrections to a sprinkler system before the grass is laid.
Under-watering – This will result in lawn dying of drought
